Kim K Just got the Weirdest Pain-Free Piercings

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, Kim Kardashian makes another bold move.  While I don’t normally keep track of her style or beauty choices, this one sure has everyone intrigued…or creeped out?

screen-shot-2017-01-27-at-4-51-57-pm

There are so many questions to ask.  What prompted this decision?  How would a person clean the dishes with nails like this? (Okay, I get it, Kim K probably isn’t cleaning any dishes).

Do the nail piercings come with a broomstick because I have to admit they do remind me somewhat of witchcraft?  Do they make a lot of noise like wearing a bunch of wrist bangles?

I will always applaud new inventions, experimentation, and the willingness to be different, especially when it comes to fashion and beauty choices, but has this gone too far?  Will nail piercings be the new trend? What do you think?

Shop all the Trends from the Golden Globes: Dresses, Jewelry, and Makeup

What’s on the Red Carpet, should be in our closets and our makeup bag.  The Golden Globe Awards were filled with plunging necklines, chunky jewelry, lots of sparkle, flattering and elegant neutral makeup, and much more.

Clothing

Starting with dresses, you can’t go wrong with a plunging neckline, but you might want to invest in some good fashion tape to avoid any nip slips.

Since we don’t all have red carpet events to attend, sometimes we want dresses we can wear for casual events.  This semi see-through red hot dress would work great in the day time with some boho inspired jewelry, or at night with some Swarovski to add some dazzle.

Sometimes the best way to look stunning is by looking classically sexy in black.  There are two sayings I live by, and they are a) you can never have too many shoes, and b) you can never go wrong with black.  This dress from Saks proves my point.

Jewelry

Jewelry at the Golden Globes was not simple or delicate by any means.  It’s all about size and sparkle.  While some may call that flashy, in moderation it’s not flashy; it’s sexy and feminine and it ought to be a part of every woman’s style regimen!

Beauty

To get the beauty looks from the Golden Globes, start with big eyelashes and a neutral shadow.  For lips, while we did see some punchy dark hues, the best looks had a pinky-plum matte lipstick that was sophisticated and chic.

All the Nail Polish Shades you Need this Winter

nails-on-keyboard

Neutral nail colors are totally in, but with a minor twist!  December time means holiday parties, a.k.a sequined holiday dresses; Christmas light decorations; and therefore, sparkly nails to match the sparkle all around town.  Whether or not your living in a climate with icicles on your roof and snowflakes on the ground, the holidays are a time when everything should glisten, including your nails.

It only takes three layers of polish to make this happen: your base solid color, the sparkly color on top, and a clear top coat over that to make it all really shine!  It’s always great to have a collection of nail polish to suit a variety of occasions.  For the classy events you need those deep neutral colors, and for everything else all you need this season are your various shades of pink!  Light pink when you’re feeling sexy and elegant, and hot pink when you’re feeling sassy!

MAC’s Newest Makeup Innovation is Set to Revolutionize the Way we Wear Eye Shadow

screen-shot-2016-09-30-at-8-31-52-pm

The clothing and accessory world isn’t the only industry seeing a rapid infusion of technological advancement!  MAC cosmetics will be introducing a line of magnetized eye shadows for a limited time between October 20 – December 1.

So how do they work?!  The eye shadows have been magnetized and charged to combat the dreaded eyeshadow fall out.  Gone are the nights you arrive home, look in the mirror and see half your eye shadow under your eyes or on your cheeks!  MAC’s new invention is designed to give you the great shimmery look of a powder, but the convenience and practicality of an eye shadow cream.  However, unlike creams that form those unattractive creases, this magnetized powder is designed to resist that annoying beauty faux-pas!

A normal tub of eye shadow can get very messy when it’s thrown around, but this new MAC eye shadow stays in place and goes back to its original shape even after running your finger or brush through it.  Therefore, those awesome lines you see, are there to stay!

The Hairdryer you’ve got to See to Believe!

Ask any woman with long locks to explain their hair drying issues.  Many days I’ll spend twenty minutes drying my hair, only to discover that it’s still not completely dry.

Next time your grumbling, willing your arm not to hurt and your hair to be dry, check out the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.  It should restore your faith.

Dyson, known for their vacuums, have come out with a quieter Supersonic hair dryer that is suppose to not only work faster, but also dry your hair without risk of damaging it. Starting at $399.99, will people be willing to splurge?

Simple Nail Art that will Have you Setting the Trends

My nail art is often inspired by the desire to put on a variety of different shades at one time.  My standard go-to look, is a solid matte color with sparkles over top.  I mix up the combinations each time to discover fresh new looks.

But this time, I got a little more creative.  This Spring it’s time to give your nails some polarity.  I colored one hand light pink and the other dark pink.  Of course I topped off the look with some flecks of pink.  I still stand by the premise, you can never wear too much pink!

Get Luscious Curls for the Holidays

IMG_47995

Have you ever looked at someone’s curls and wondered, wow how did they make their curls so perfect? I definitely have.  My goal is always to get luscious large curls in the minimum amount of time with the least amount of organization.  Lucky for me, getting big messy curls doesn’t take that long and doesn’t require a lot of skill.

I use a 1.25inch curling iron to get the curls you see featured above.  I use no hairspray.  I hate that sticky feeling that so many sprays leave.  If my curls fall out, they fall out…no big deal.  I’d rather have touchably soft hair that falls flat, than sticky curly hair that stays curled.

My tip from me to you…grab an inch of hair, curl just the top half of it, and then move your hair curler down to curl the whole piece from tip to root.  Curling the top half of the piece first will help create curls that fall from the top of your head to the bottom, instead of getting curls just at the tips of your hair.

Last but not least, let your hair be free.  Run your hands through your curls to create that effortless, beachy natural curls look.

Happy holidays to you all.  May you make great memories and take beautiful photos.

Let’s Talk Beauty Trends: Bold Lips and Nude Eyes

This fall it’s all about showing off the lips, and letting the true beauty of your eyes shine through. Not everyone can wear red or orange lipstick like Nicole Kidman and Rachel McAdams, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.  While pink is normally my go-to shade, I raised the stakes this past weekend with a bold orange Revlon lipstick to match my orange tiger lily flower from my birthday bouquet.

I kept my eyes nude so that all the attention would be centered on my lips.

But then I went ahead and made my eyes green, bringing the attention once again back to my eyes.

New Season, New Look

Hello fellow fashion lovers,

We all know that the Fall season is like New Years for fashionistas.  All the best fashion pieces are on display in stores, the hottest shoes, the best leather bags, and last but not least, the warmest fall beauty tones make their comeback.

Summers for me are all about wearing little to no makeup.  Oh natural…as you saw in one of my previous posts.  But fall also brings about the desire to experiment with your look.  To try that new bold lipstick, or that grey-ish black eye liner, or those sparkly earrings, whatever you may choose.

FullSizeRender (7)

I’ve recently realized that without makeup I look like I’m 14 years old.  To be taken seriously, as a woman in their mid-twenties sometimes makeup is necessary.

In today’s look I experimented with my new Clinique eye-liner called Intense Clove.  It’s a grey-ish brown color that I carefully picked out with my mom a few weeks ago.  For lipstick, I went with my trusted pink Clinique chubby stick.

For jewelry I chose a pair of gold and crystal square hanging earrings.  After all, every look needs a touch of sparkle!

Love,

J. Molly
