If you are wondering what the trends are this season, you will be happy to know that knitwear has found its way back to popularity. This is especially good news for those who find knitting to be a great hobby and a good pass-time activity. Now you can prepare all the things you need from the comfort of your home. Here are some tips and tricks on how to use your hobby in a good manner, what to wear this autumn, and how to combine your garments.

Jeans and Trousers

Combining your favorite knit sweater with some trousers or jeans is always a good idea. It is comfy, simple, and a great choice for every day. The best way to wear this combo is to make a good proportion. The bigger the sweater the skinnier the jeans should be. To make a statement, you can always pair it with a vibrant color handbag. If you are looking for a night-out combination, you can pull on some leather jeans, your favorite sweater and a pair of heels. It is always a good idea to accessorize your look with a knitted scarf, especially if you made it yourself; as then you have the freedom of adding all kinds of different details to it.

Skirts and Dresses

An oversized knit jumper that you made yourself paired with a mini skirt will make a killer look. Combine this with a pair of ankle boots and you will get a great high-low balance. Also, don’t be afraid to experiment with textures, patterns, and fabrics. Online yarn store offers all kinds of different yarns and fabrics that you can use for seasons to come. You can never go wrong with matching a wool cardigan with a leather mini skirt. Another thing to consider is knitted dresses that come in all shapes, sizes, patterns, and colors. Other than that, you can always wear a regular dress and top it with a loose knit sweater. Match this look with some heels, and you are ready for any occasion.

Shirts and Blouses

When it comes to matching knitwear to blouses and shirts, you have a variety of choices from which you can choose the preferred look. One of those choices is wearing a thin polo neck underneath a woolen blazer or a crew-neck jumper. If you are looking for something more elegant, you can’t go wrong with cashmere polo or round neck fitted jumpers. Polo necks are a great choice as you can wear them under shirts, blazers and crop tops in a combo with shorts, skirts and a pair of boots. If you are also striving for that statement look, it is a good idea to wear a neck jumper over a buttoned shirt with a sparkly necklace.

Chunky knitwear is back in! Now you have the comfort of wearing different fashion combinations for all kinds of events and occasions, and you will be sure that you are warm and cozy the whole time. The best thing about knitwear is that is practical, good for cold seasons, and also looks trendy and hip. If you still haven’t begun knitting and creating all sorts of different garments, this is the perfect time to start. Make a fashion statement with your handmade clothes and set some new trends.

Fall Shopping Wishlist

With Fall just around the corner, it’s time to stock up on sweaters, jeans, and booties. Here are my week’s top picks.

Neiman Marcus Last Call

For jeans, I fell in love with these ultra flare jeans from Free People. The wash is pleasantly simple without any fading, detailing, or rips.  It lets people focus on the flare without any competing distractions.

While people are bringing out the simple black booties for Fall, on my list there’s a pair of booties that turn it up a notch.

Last but not least, every season’s wardrobe needs a pink dress.  This modest dress is subtly sexy with side cutouts and a respectable length.  Wear it to formal occasions with a blazer, or dress it down with a casual sweater.

Fall Trends: The Suede Patchwork Skirt

Today’s look is inspired by the rich fall colors and luxurious materials dominating store shelves.  Zara’s featuring a bold patchwork skirt with our favorite fall colors, burgundy, navy, beige, and black.  Since the look features some bold pieces, i.e. the shoes and the skirt, I kept the jewelry simple, subtle, and silver.  While you don’t have to, I matched the handbag to the shoes because we want all the attention drawn to the skirt, not the bag.  Take advantage of our nice fall weather by wearing the look without a jacket.  The cold weather will be upon us before we know!

Love,

J. Molly

Today’s look is inspired by looking casual, feeling comfortable, and feeling sexy.  To start, throw on a pair of faded boyfriend jeans.  Pair it with a button-down plaid shirt or a solid blouse in an invigorating color.  Dust off your favorite pastel colored long coat and wear it open.  If it’s cold, add a scarf.  Last but not least, opt for a chunky pair of boots if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking, but if you’re planning on being stationary for the day, slip on those killer stiletto pumps instead.

J. Molly
