Cheetah Print: Yay or Nay?

Last Fall we saw animal prints make a huge splash across the runways.  The question is, will cheetah prints make a comeback this Fall as well?

DSC_6065So what do you pair with a vibrant cheetah print jacket?  Try some chunky jewelry and a bold pair of high heels.  This shot features purple suede high heels, a statement necklace and bracelet, and a pair of oversized vintage (my grandmother’s sunglasses from 40 years ago!) round sunglasses.

For look number two I paired the cheetah jacket with a pair of ripped jeans, Chanel sunglasses, Miss Sixty sandals, and a brown watch.

What to Wear on Canada Day

It’s Canada Day! Some of you may be headed to a Canada Day party and thinking to yourself, what should I wear? You could be a walking stereotype and wear red and white…or you could diverge out onto your own path.  Or you may be thinking, I live in America…the celebration isn’t for another four days.  But whether you’re Canadian or not, there’s no reason why you can’t celebrate.

So here’s your guide to celebrating in style.  Before choosing your shirt/pants/dress, choose the alcohol of your choice.  Now that the most important decision is out of the way, let’s get down to styling tips.  If you’re going to be standing outside watching fireworks, it’s best to cover up so you don’t get eaten alive by mosquitos.  Throw on a pair of your favorite medium wash jeans (skinny or flair…either will work) just make sure they are not too long for you (#shortgirlproblems) because chances are you could be standing on grass or dirt while watching the fireworks.

Second, choose your top.  Cleavage is great…unless you’re a guy…showing man boobs is definitely not a good idea.  Just remember to bring a sweater because Summer weather isn’t always predictable at night.

Next, it’s time to pick your shoes wisely.  Wearing a pair of skinny heels may not be the best idea if you’re walking on grass because you’ll either be sinking into the grass every step you take, or walking on your tippy toes.  Then again, if want to keep your look stylish, heels are the way to go.  Try a pair of wedges because they will let you walk smoothly across any kind of surface…(even a table surface…depending on how crazy your celebration gets!)

Keep the wine flowing, the firecrackers cracking, and the s’mores roasting, and you’ll be in for a good night!

Wishing all of you the very best Canada Day!

J. Molly

Summer’s the time to bring out your white jeans or white skirts, your bright pastel-colored accessories, and your chunky jewelry.  Trade your sweaters in for some new off-the-shoulder crop tops in vibrant blues or feminine pinks.  The above image features three fun elements of pink: a pink Aldo purse, a silver and pink chunky necklace from Swarovski, and some light pink nail polish to tie it all together.

We’ve got a big chunky watch to add some extra flavor, a pair of dainty multi-colored butterfly stiletto heels to make your legs look miles long, and a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmasters to give you that extra cool factor!

Cheers,

J. Molly

This Spring add some fun to your look with a punch of color, a touch of prints, and flirty flared skirt.

IMG_2726I accessorized this look with a gold-chain belt taken from one of my other dresses and I added a large-faced black Armani Exchange watch to make this girly look a little more slick.

Happy Friday!

Get a little funky in these DSquared off-kilter beauties below.  Buying a pair of shoes with a normal heel is like going on a Tinder date; you’re wearing something that everyone has experienced before but nobody likes.  So opt for a pair of high heel sandals that have a slightly weird sculptured heel.  These heels below are perfectly Springy with blue flowers and perfectly original with an off-kilter heel.  And for 100% of your weekly paycheck they can be all yours!

High Heel Shoes or Architectural Masterpieces?

My favorite kinds of shoes are the ones you look at and think, what the fuck is going on there?

Think about it, when you’re at a museum, the most amazing works of art are the ones that make you want to stare at them for more than five seconds.

So I have compiled a bundle of shoes that have made me take a second look.  Should they be classified as shoes? works of art? pieces of architecture? or pure genius?

Four Looks for a Fun Night Out

It’s the weekend.  You may be debating what outfit to wear to the bar tonight, or out on your date.  But have no fear because I have four options that will satisfy your craving.  I have a tendency to get a bit over enthusiastic about the shoes for an outfit, so don’t feel bad if you opt for a more realistic pair of heels.

Created on the StyleChat App

But first, start in the middle of the outfit by picking out the perfect pair of jeans.

You could a) opt for a pair of faded boyfriend jeans, or b) a pair of blue skinny denim, or c) a pair of grey skinnies with black leather detailing, or d) a pair of ripped black skinnies.

Next it’s time to cover up your fun bags with a sexy shirt. You could a) opt for a white sleeveless shirt with a zipper, or b) wear a cream V-neck crop top, or c) a black sleeveless high neck top with studded detailing, or d) a sheer sleeveless beige wrap top.  Just remember, when in doubt, show cleavage.

Last but not least, make a statement with your shoes.  If they’re architecturally intriguing, they’re the perfect fit.  If you can’t walk in them, you know they look hot.

J. Molly

Take Your Shoes to all New Heights

There’s high heels and then there are “HIGH heels.”  Finsk has redefined my definition of a shoe.  I remember the old days when a shoe with a 1 or 2 inch platform was something to admire.  Now, a spectacular shoe is one that uses architectural design to expand the boundaries of your definition of a shoe.

Redefine your look this week by paying attention to the architectural design of your accessories.  Opt for a handbag in a strong structural shape or wear a necklace that combines multiple shapes in its design.  Opt for a shoe with a heel that has a distinguished shape.

J. Molly

Let’s Get High

…with high heels of course.

Shoes are a synonym for life.  The best ones are outside of the box.  The best ones surprise you. The best moments are created when you’re teetering on the edge.

If these don’t make enough of a statement for you, take your shoes to all new heights with these:

No, I did not photoshop the height of these sandals.  They are perfect just the way they are. If anyone can come up with a good suggestion for where to wear a pair of shoes like this, I will be thoroughly impressed.  I’d suggest avoiding stairs, bumpy sidewalks, and a pebbly ground.

Enjoy with care.
